Not sure about you guys but for me a great car trip includes cruising along, windows down, fantastic music playing, and a tasty drink to consume that dances a delicious flavor across my taste buds.
Then I starting wondering, what are your guys favorite drinks to get when you're driving? Anything in particular?
One of my favorite drinks is Faygo Candy Apple, the flavor is amazing each time I drink it.

We call it road soda 'round these parts... but I don't feel like getting slammed by OPPO today for disclosing what that is exactly

I really don't drink anything in my car, but when I do, it's water, out of a bottle with a cap.

Water. I'm a big fan of water.

Just curious, where are you from that they sell this?

DO THE DEW! (it's really bad for you, I know... only on LONG trips)

If I'm near a Dunkin Donuts, and their machine is working, I have to get an Orange Coolatta. It's an orange juice slushie. Now I want one. Thanks a lot.

Canada Dry ginger ale, jones cola, a nice macchiato

Dairy Queen, and sonic also have similar drinks. orange spice black tea is one of my favorite hot teas (Irish breakfast is my favorite).
I don't normally get frozen drinks while driving because I don't drink quickly when I drive. It sucks finding warm used-to-be heavenly liquid

I'm also a fan of water. And coffee. And every rest stop between me and my destination.

You do realize that dihydrogen monoxide exposure is scientifically proven to be 100% fatal, right? And you're just dumping it right into your body.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 12:18 |

if it ain't in a can, it isn't a road soda. But it could be
![]() 09/05/2014 at 12:18 |

What ever that is, but I imagine I'm putting worse things than that into my body.

Water, Coffee and Sunflower seeds are all i need for a roadtrip (i think the sunflower seed salt keeps the reststops down?)

It is also proven to corrode steel!

And some Skoal/Copenhagen when I used to do such things. No longer.

How can one drink while driving?
![]() 09/05/2014 at 12:29 |
|
On road trips, I'll grab a zero-carb Rockstar. I've determined that, for me, the calories that I get from soda are not worth the enjoyment I get from soda, and I'm allergic to aspartame, so Diet Coke with Splenda, Pepsi One, and Rockstar Zero Carb are the only soft drinks I consume.

Gatorade.
After you drink it down you can re-use the bottle "post processing".
All flavors of Gatorade are equal in the road trip circle of life
![]() 09/05/2014 at 12:42 |

no open drinks allowed in any of my cars. Mainly because the cup holder in my 98 is placed right behind the shifter so it makes it a pain to shift, the no cup holders in my 68 or 33

vitamin water for me.not because i think its actually good for me, but because it taste good
![]() 09/05/2014 at 13:42 |

I had two of these once upon a time. Would fill them up with iced tea typically. And Wild Stallion.
Yeah.
7-Eleven named their cheap Gatorade clone after Bill and Ted's band.
Nowadays, water with some Mio.

Have a healthy dose of GERMANY.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 14:05 |

I feel your pain. If it's anything without a screw on lid, my cup holder is the person in the passenger seat!

On road trips.. cherry coke/pepsi and beef jerky!

That's how I survived driving from Michigan to Florida. first time I drove more than 6 hrs.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:05 |

I'm sorry at your inability to pronounce 'pop'. But we here at oppo can forgive , :).

The only times I spill a drink always lands on me, so that is a-ok!
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:08 |

Yeah, my drink of choice at home is water, I like pop when I'm out and about.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:11 |

Michigan, it's made here instate. It's also sold to the surround states (dirt cheap too), and super stores like Target (I've found faygo in Florida before).
It's $.89 per bottle, and 40 different flavors. It's also the drink of choice for juggalos, but they tend to corrupt amazing things.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:11 |

I even drink water when I'm out.........with a slice of lemon in it.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:12 |

Jones ! Theory are good but pricey, :(.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:14 |

See, I just see dollar signs because of Michigan's bottle deposit, $.10 per can/bottle.

My dad-in-law has a cup bigger than that. He made a special holster (out if wood) for it, that buckles into the passenger seat. He drinks from it on his 2 hr commute.
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:23 |

nice! I can't get use to jerky though, I've tried so many times.

am I missing something?
![]() 09/05/2014 at 15:30 |

I mainly drink water milk, and tea so the price of jones does not hurt me (i drink 1-2 a month)
![]() 09/05/2014 at 17:51 |

Water, because nothing else is allowed in my car.
Plus I've got these tiny ass cup holders, that don't really hold cups and if you DO use them I can't shift comfortably. Also, if you take a corner, it'll spill out in which ever direction the corner is.

Please, get informed and be safe out there: http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html
DHMO is dangerous stuff. It can be toxic and it even reduces the effectiveness of your car's brakes.

LOVE Code Red! Grape is good too if you can find it - Midnight Black I think? Was a limited release.

....those are considered cup holders? What in the world?!? It's like trying to grip something using your thumb and pinky. Of course you're going to drop it!

Sorta like Vernor's Ginger Ale. Anytime I'm in the region I get some for when my dad visits. It's a bit strong for me but I can see why some people like it.

Yes, another MI drink! Well, MI and surrounding states...and Florida . It depends really. When I went to college in Bourbonnais, IL, I went to some random grocery story and found Faygo being sold for $.10 a can. I quickly bought $10 worth.
Also, since MI is simply awesome, we also have the Detroit-based Towne Club drinks. Those are cheap too (~$.99), but only come in 12oz.
I'm...a...really big on local (non-alcoholic) drinks. There are unique to that state. I prefer choosing state-local drinks over big-name brands, :).

as long as there's no sugar, they are all welcome!
